Elizabeth hopes that Doorstep News inspires other young people to learn more about the world around them. Being an avid reader of the news and passionate about the truth, she strives for a career as a journalist. Thus far, she has interviewed Sian Clifford and Adam Pearson: experiences which have only heightened her love for reporting! Elizabeth also writes for No Cap News.
Rachel Pennington: Editor

A huge Hozier fan who hopes to one day become a published writer, Rachel is a meticulous editor with a sharp eye for detail. Rachel has also started her own personal blog ‘The Crimson Feminine’: a literature-based website.
Ayuushi Gunetilleke: Editor

Ayuushi is a 17-year-old from the small island nation of Sri Lanka. She loves reading fantasy novels and the occasional non-fiction book on economics, which she is very passionate about. She is an ardent environmental activist, and runs a small online platform, writing about social and economic issues, amongst other topics. Whenever she's not editing or writing articles, she's playing with her cat or binging anime.

Harriet is a student midwife from Oxford, England. She has always been a keen writer and enjoys volleyball, the arts, hiking, and travelling. She loves writing about healthcare, current affairs, controversies, mental health and theatre!

Oliver Lamb: Reporter

Oliver lives in southeast England and studies German, History and Politics at A-Level. He likes reading, writing, photography, getting lost amid progressively more obscure Wikipedia articles, table tennis, pool, roast beef, and some other things. He does not like being sociable, nor is he very good at it.
Hafiza Samath: Reporter

Hailing from a small island called Penang in the northernmost part of Malaysia, Hafiza enjoys debating and volunteering. Pursuing law at the University of London, she's keen on being the voice of the unheard, hence her interest in women's and human rights. When she's not debating or writing, Hafiza watches ASMR videos on YouTube.

Maeve is 16 years old, and a rising junior in high school. She loves music, sings in her school choir, and plays the guitar. She is very passionate about writing, and aspires to pursue a career in it in the future.

Evan is from a small village in Wales, UK. He is currently studying Politics, Sociology, Welsh, and History at college, while learning several languages in his time. Evan enjoys most sports, especially rugby and athletics. He also spends time reading about economics, history, flags, politics, and more. He is "in his element" amid the tranquility of nature and writing.

Ruby got started in journalism by writing articles for her local paper about the teenagers in town. Ruby hopes to use her journalism and new blog, What Ruby Writes, to empower young people and elevate their voices and opinions. She strives to help create a future where society respects and values its young people more. As well as journalism, Ruby enjoys performing in plays, interviewing authors, and is an avid reader on Bookstagram.

Amia hopes to have a career in writing or something along the lines of current affairs and debate. She describes herself as "absorbed by politics and the complexity of the current political climate". Her passion for people and helping others runs deeply within, so volunteering for an organisation run by youth like herself is an opportunity she doesn't want to miss out on!
Joshua Foster: Reporter

After a period of writing personal blogs, Joshua joined the organisation ‘ShoutOutUK’ at the age of 16. Since then, he’s continued to create articles for ShoutoutUK but progressed further and later started writing for ‘The Preserver UK’. He later set up his own mini-news site, where was in control of Politics & Home affairs. Joshua then joined Doorstep News in August 2020.

Mashy is a psychology and global mental health graduate. Her passions lie in tackling racism, gender equality, and supporting survivors of gender-based violence. She is also a painter and lover of cats!
Hena Sharma: Reporter
Hena is a graduate of UCL, and former CNN Style intern, who has written a range of articles on art, culture, fashion, and current affairs. She currently writes for VICE's NBGA, and hopes to use her work to cover BIPOC issues and stories.
Elsa Ruloff: Reporter
Elsa is from Vancouver, on the Northwest coast of Canada. Though she loves the Pacific Northwest, she wants to become a correspondent and travel the world. She’s especially interested in the Middle East because of its complexity, and she desperately wants to cover it someday. She likes to spend her free time by the ocean, or with family and friends.
Arshiya Khanna

Arshiya is a 17 year old from India, who is fond of writing about societal and political issues. In addition to social activism, she enjoys poetry, singing, playing the ukulele, and watching movies. Arshiya dabbles with paints on a range of surfaces (including ukuleles!), and one day hopes to own a dog. She also has a penchant for Lorde, Taylor Swift, and Oasis

Quinlan Diago loves to tell the stories of those whose voices can’t be heard. Quinlan is a big advocate for domestic abuse victims. After high school, Quinlan plans on attending college, and ultimately becoming a multi-media journalist and news anchor. Sa'adah comes from Malaysia, and is a passionate learner. Aside from writing for IIUM Today, she is part of a broadcasting club, having acted as a DJ and TV host. She is enthusiastic about equality, and strives for freedom of speech in every case, no matter the topic.

John loves poetry and literature as a whole. He's also a hopeless movie buff, and can sit, watch, and analyze movies for the entire weekend, shifting only to eat. He has a particular passion for rooting for the underdogs in society.

Varshini is located in Malaysia. She enjoys ballet, messing around with art supplies, and playing the guitar. Varshini also loves the outdoors, having fallen in love with rock climbing. She is passionate about the environment, and hopes to raise awareness through her writing.

Zac is 18 and is from a small town just north of London in England. He is excited to study History and Philosophy at university in September 2021, and has loved reading and writing from a very early age. Zac joined the team in May 2020, and has so far provided pieces on political, economical and social issues, as well as the occasional music review!

Maggie is from Canada. In her free time, she can be found stalking people's Instagram accounts, watching YouTube, and - most importantly - reading books! One of her all time favourite books is "Gone With the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell.

McKenzie Mollica is a freshman, always positive, and always up to something. In addition to writing, she also loves dance and art. When she's not writing, she's usually making TikToks. Lately, amidst COVID-19, she has found herself doing lots of puzzles, and the "diamond paintings" which have recently become popular on TikTok.

Victoria is currently in year 13 in the UK. She runs a small blog relating to social issues, among other subjects. She loves music, and obsessing over specific artists. Victoria also enjoys travelling to cool places, and - of course - writing!

Divya is from India. She is passionate about learning languages, designing, and loves dogs as long as they don’t bite. She is also passionate about anything related to the Mughals, WW2, and travelling. Usually, you can find her reading books or making plans for her next getaway.

When he isn't fanboying over the various members of Fall Out Boy, or rewatching Star Wars: Attack of the Clones for the thousandth time, Matt enjoys writing. Whether it be his next Doorstep News article, poetry, or plays, Matt enjoys just sitting down and letting his imagination run free. An aspiring guitarist and musician, Matt wishes to go to university to get his degree in Drama, and go on to be a drama therapist.

Dylan is from South Wales. He is currently starting his A-levels, and plans on studying politics in the hopes of working for the UN in the future. He enjoys supporting his local rugby team, and rooting for Wales on the international stage. He enjoys listening to Bastille and learning about international politics.

Josh is a politics student who enjoys writing and reading about British politics - as well as recent events in the UK. His interests cover a range of issues from new laws, international affairs, and even election coverages. He hopes to use his journalism to engage young people in politics, and demonstrate how the younger generation can make a difference.
